How to Clean Squid

Pull tentacles firmly but slowly from body sac.
Cut them crosswise, above eyes.
Remove thin clear cartilage
from body sac.
Leave body intact.

Intestines should come out with tentacles.
Hold body under cold running water,
while pealing away spotted outer membrane.

Turn body sac inside out
and rinse away any grit or tissue
still attached
under cold running water.

Squid, who needs 'em?
