Imposter Syndrome

It was so easy when I was a kid
I had no worries or self-hate or sinking feelings
Wish I could go back and tell her to stay fearless
'Cause the truth is being an adult kinda sucks

Anything that anybody says to you

It'll stick to you like glue
Yeah, that's what words will do to you

I feel that I'm not good enough
Every time that we talk I suffer from imposter syndrome
But nobody would ever think so
Do you, do you know what you've done to me?
You say it's my fault to suffer from imposter syndrome
But you would say I play the victim

There's a lot of ego going 'round
That's making a lot of room for second guessing
And I hate that I'm the nice one in all of this
I like to think that you didn't mean it, but I know you did

Give me a chance or is it out of courtesy?
Think it's so far down within me that I don't deserve this
Will it always be this way?
