Orchestrating the Fates

Pallid and Wan
His presence is clear
A corpse dressed in shadow
That ignites me with fear
Standing above me
Like a stone on a grave
Or a statue carved
By hands ill and deranged

Death comes to us all
No mortal can escape
The conductor that
Orchestrates our fate

Each of us that's born
Of flesh and bone
Bears witness to
The king upon his carnal throne
