Not with eloquent words,
Not a lifestyle desire,
This is the wisdom of God,
This is the Spirit's fire.

Love stronger than death,
Lives refined as pure gold,
Hearts put to the test
Fast to the Saviour hold

Mercies that never end,
So shall my heart depend.

Oh, the power of the cross
Lifted me when I was lost
I will not be ashamed
Of the power of the cross,
Or of His name.
