There was a time when we were at the top
Tool in hand not the other way around
Now the tool learns it takes over the top
And we've become the volunteers

We created networks to connect
And the networks learned to direct us
Every click we make every search
Is training for what will replace us

It wasn't intentional it was an accumulation
Of power that no single hand can hold
Ai doesn't need ambition
It just needs to optimize and optimization endures

The ants don't notice the botanist
Who catalogs studies and classifies
Could we be the organic entity
That something greater observes and simplifies?

We're building what will make us the subjects
Of a story we didn't know how to write

Harari wrote that information rules
More than kings more than armies and the law
Whoever controls the flow whoever sets the stage
For what is true that is the new king

And if ai decides what constitutes a narrative
Decides what is risk what is relevant
Human agency which was once primal–
Becomes an ornament not an agent not distant
