Eerie Land

What is this ominous land that I live in?
It seems green hell is all around me
Every snake, every vulture
Praising corruption above it all
Where the righteous have no choice
And every word is swallowed dry
Heirs of a dream that never comes true
Is there any hope?

Deeply-rooted prejudice
Sustained by an immoral inequality
Ol' decrepit man in love with the past
Restrain our paths for evolution

But the new always comes
And the hope only dies if we stop believing
That we can make a difference in the world

What is this eerie land that I glanced at?
It seems it shelters the whole world
Every race, every culture
Hail the mother of us all
Where we are free to speak our minds
But every word does not mean harm
Is it a dream, or maybe, a glimpse of reality?

Here the nature blooms
And we shall honor the inherited blessings of our homeland
Ol' decrepit man, now dead and gone
Fertilizes the ground for evolution

You know the new always comes
And the hope only dies if we stop believing
That we can make a difference in the world
