Climbing

In the dim of the candles a whisper
In the darkness invading the ails

Cracks, footsteps, bodies
In the shadows of the banister
An undecipherable form with an avid expression

Enunciating look, speechless words
Forbidden to listen, too disgusting to be understood
A terrible dark past
Chanted hymns, crying chorus
Something promised but never achieved

Ilness, suffering, loneliness
Faultless clothing, deteriorating bodies
Weaken culture, poor souls
Dreams, lamentations, death
A disastrous and frozen dawn

The promise of another unbearable day
Empty, silent and morbid
The conviction of another nightfall
The agony of a permanent cycle
Until someone listens to their pleas
